Two sets

Flower Parts asks for the male parts (Stamen, Anther, Filament), the female parts (Pistil, Stigma, Style, Ovary) and the rest, from Calyx to Nectary. Pollination and Seeds covers Pollinator, Fertilization, Dispersal and Germination. All mixes both.

For a science lesson

Print it: the answer key sits on the final sheet. On a tablet, tap a square and type. Hide the word bank under More options once the names are known.

  • Sort the parts before you start: male parts make pollen, female parts catch it and become the fruit and seeds.
  • Calyx is every sepal together and Corolla every petal, so learn them as pairs.

Questions and answers

Is there a parts of a flower crossword with answers?

Yes. The final printed sheet is the key, and Show all clues and answers, under the grid, lists the 35 flower clues with their answers.

What grades is it for?

Flower Parts suits grades 3 to 6 with the word bank on, and older pupils with it off. Pollination and Seeds suits grades 5 to 8. The bands are our suggestion, not a standard.

How is it different from the flower diagram?

The flower diagram asks you to find each part by its place on a drawing. This crossword asks you to recall and spell it from what it does, and adds pollination and seed words that a drawing of one flower cannot show.
