How this list was compiled: Items made on 2026-10-01. The twelve statistical regions are today's: the count, every name and the municipalities of each region were read on 2026-10-01 on the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia's pages (https://www.stat.si/obcine/en and https://www.stat.si/obcine/en/Region/Index/1 to /12: twelve regions, 212 municipalities) and compared with Wikipedia's table (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistical_regions_of_Slovenia, twelve regions, the same names; the English names accepted as answers are that table's). The map source's own grouping is older, so each region is put together in the spec from the source's municipal shapes by the office's lists of today; one pair of names the source has on the wrong shapes (Bistrica ob Sotli, Podčetrtek) is put right there. Wikipedia's list of municipalities (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipalities_of_Slovenia) gave the parent of each newer municipality. The neighbors are untappable land; no rivers are drawn. How it works

This blank map of Slovenia shows the country’s twelve statistical regions, with Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia drawn as plain land. Switch Borders off and it prints as a plain outline of Slovenia.

Blank, numbered or named

The sheet opens blank. Choose Numbered to put a number on each region, or Named for the names, then press Print this map. Print the answer key gives the names on a sheet of its own.

Regions, not provinces

Slovenia has no provinces or states. Its 212 municipalities are too many for one sheet, so this map draws the twelve statistical regions they are grouped into. Borders takes the region lines away and leaves the outline.

  • The names are Slovenian. In the quiz the English names count too: Central Slovenia is right for Osrednjeslovenska and Upper Carniola for Gorenjska.
