Blank, numbered or named
The sheet opens blank. Choose Numbered to put a number on each of the 9 states of Austria, or Named for their names, then press Print this map; the answer key prints on its own sheet.
Vienna and Tyrol
Vienna is a state of its own, surrounded by Lower Austria, the largest state. Tyrol comes in two pieces: East Tyrol is cut off from the rest by a strip of Salzburg and Italy. Burgenland, on the Hungarian border, is the newest state: it joined Austria in 1921.
The German names, such as Tirol, Steiermark and Kärnten, count as right answers when students type in the quiz.
