How it works
On this rabbit diagram with no labels a line leads off each part, and the name goes at its end. Ten are everyday names, such as ears and tail; five are a keeper's words, such as dewlap and hock.

Rabbit diagram, no labels: the fifteen names
In the order of the numbered copy: ears, eye, nose, whiskers, tail, front legs, hind legs, hind foot, back, belly, dewlap, shoulder, loin, rump, hock.
Rabbit diagram not labeled: the lines that get swapped
Four lines rise from the body. Front to rear, they start on the shoulder, the back, the loin and the rump. Three slant down to the left, one under another: from the whiskers, from the dewlap, which is the fold under the chin, and from a front leg. On the big folded hind leg, the hind foot is the long part flat on the ground and the hock is the joint at its heel.
- For a younger class, ask for the ten everyday names only, ears to belly.
Questions and answers
What is a female rabbit called?
A doe. A male rabbit is a buck, and a young one is a kit or kitten. The rabbit on this sheet is drawn as a doe, which is why she has a dewlap to label.
What are a rabbit's whiskers called?
Vibrissae: large sensory hairs beside the mouth. A rabbit cannot see what is just below its mouth, so it tells what it is eating with its lips and whiskers.
What is the outer ear of a rabbit called?
The pinna, also called the auricle. It is the long upright part on top of the head, and the key writes it as Ears.
Does the label-a-rabbit worksheet have an answer key?
Yes. The sheet prints the rabbit with her fifteen lines and nothing written, and the answer key prints her again with a name at the end of every line.
