How it works
This blank map of Botswana opens on the plain outline, with four neighbors as plain land around it. Switches add the Okavango River and district borders. The map source predates today's list, so eight of ten districts carry a number.

Outline first
The sheet opens with nothing inside the outline. Press Print this map for a sheet to draw the Kalahari Desert, the Okavango Delta, towns or the ten districts on. Borders adds the district lines and Rivers adds the Okavango. The Chobe and the Limpopo are border rivers and lie on the outline itself.
Why eight districts have numbers
Numbered and Named label eight of the ten districts. The north is drawn as one area with no number. It holds two districts, North West and Chobe, and the map source has no line between them. Cities and towns are not drawn: each lies inside the district around it.
- Chobe is the smaller of the two districts without a number, at the northeastern tip of the country around Kasane.
Questions and answers
How many districts does Botswana have?
Ten administrative districts: Central, Chobe, Ghanzi, Kgalagadi, Kgatleng, Kweneng, North East, North West, South East and Southern. Seven cities and towns rank as urban districts beside them. This map numbers eight of the ten.
Why does the north have no number?
Two districts share it: North West and Chobe. The map source draws them as one area, as it was before Chobe was listed as a district of its own again, so the sheet shows one area there.
What is the capital of Botswana?
Gaborone, the largest city. It lies in the South East District, the smallest shape on the map.
Which countries border Botswana?
South Africa (south and southeast), Namibia (west and north), Zambia (north) and Zimbabwe (northeast). Botswana has no coast.
