Blank, numbered or named

The sheet opens blank. Choose Numbered to put a number on each of the 18 departments of Honduras, or Named for their names, then press Print this map; the answer key prints on its own sheet.

Largest and smallest

Olancho is the largest department and Gracias a Dios the second. The Bay Islands, a department made of islands, are the smallest, so they carry a ring. Valle and Choluteca give Honduras its short Pacific coast on the Gulf of Fonseca, and La Ceiba is the capital of Atlántida on the Caribbean.

  • Tegucigalpa, the capital, is in Francisco Morazán. Ask students to find it before the rest.
