Which states this blank US map counts as Mountain states

Rocky Mountain states is a loose name, so the sheet follows the Census Bureau's Mountain division. The Rockies themselves run through six of the eight: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. They do not reach Arizona or Nevada, which have smaller ranges of their own.

The Rocky Mountain states on the map, row by row

Montana is the wide state across the top, with the thin neck of Idaho beside it. Wyoming and Colorado are the two plain blocks stacked on the east side. Nevada is the wedge on the west, next to notched Utah. Arizona and New Mexico make the bottom row.

  • None of the eight has a sea coast: every edge a student traces is a line with another state, Canada or Mexico.
