Parts of a truck body
A pickup is a closed cab with an open cargo bed behind it. The hood and the grille are at the front. The cargo lamp sits on the back of the cab, facing the bed, and a running board under the doors is a step up. At the back are the rear bumper and the trailer hitch.
Parts of a pickup truck bed
The bed has three low walls and a tailgate that drops down. The wheel wells rise from the floor over the rear wheels. Tie-downs in the corners take the straps that hold a load, and a bedliner protects the floor and walls.
- The second drawing looks straight down into the bed, with the tailgate folded flat at the left.
