A Czech Republic outline map with rivers
Two switches sit over the map. Borders removes the lines between the regions and leaves the outline of the country. Rivers adds the Elbe, the Vltava and the Morava. Turn Rivers on and Borders off for a map to mark cities on.
The regions, numbered or named
Numbered and Named put a number or a name on all 14 shapes. Prague is a small shape of its own in the middle of the Central Bohemian Region, the largest shape on the map. Names are in English: South Moravian for Jihomoravský, Central Bohemian for Středočeský.
- The Czech names, such as Jihočeský, Plzeňský and Praha, count as right answers when students type in the quiz.
Questions and answers
How many regions does the Czech Republic have?
Thirteen regions and the capital city of Prague, which has the rank of a region. All 14 are numbered on this map.
Which countries border the Czech Republic?
Germany to the west, Poland to the northeast, Slovakia to the southeast and Austria to the south. The country has no coast. The neighbors are drawn as plain land around the outline, without names.
Can I print the Czech Republic without the region lines?
Yes. Switch Borders off and the sheet prints the outline of the country alone. Switch Rivers on to add the three rivers.
Is Prague part of the Central Bohemian Region?
No. Prague is a unit of its own. The Central Bohemian Region surrounds the city and has its offices there, but the city is not counted as part of the region.
