How it works
These are the parts of a weight bench of the home kind, with a rack for the bar at the head end and a leg developer at the foot. The names are the ones makers print in their parts lists.

Head end to foot end
At the head end stand two uprights; the drawing shows one, with the other behind it. A crutch at the top of each holds the bar. The backrest slopes down from the uprights to the seat, and both pads sit on the frame. At the foot end the curl pad stands on its own post. Below it hangs the leg developer, a lever with foam rolls and a post for weight plates.
- Makers do not agree on names. The bar rests are crutches, weight rests or bar holders, and the leg developer is also a leg lever.
