How this list was compiled: Items made on 2026-10-01 from the drawing's own list of shapes; ids and points are Natural Earth's. The ten provinces and the Brussels-Capital Region are today's units: the count and every name were compared on 2026-10-01 with the Belgian Constitution in the English translation of the House of Representatives, whose Article 3 names three Regions and whose Article 5 names the five provinces of the Flemish Region and the five of the Walloon Region (https://www.dekamer.be/kvvcr/pdf_sections/publications/constitution/GrondwetUK.pdf), with the list of ISO 3166-2 codes for Belgium as Wikipedia prints it (three regions and ten provinces, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:BE) and with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinces_of_Belgium. Five, five and Brussels
Five provinces in the north make up Flanders: Antwerp, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant, Limburg and West Flanders. Five in the south make up Wallonia: Hainaut, Liège, Luxembourg, Namur and Walloon Brabant. Brussels, the small shape inside Flemish Brabant, belongs to no province.
Luxembourg on this map is a Belgian province. The country of Luxembourg is the plain land beside it, to the southeast.
