How this list was compiled: Items made on 2026-10-01. The count of 15 counties and every name are today's: checked on 2026-10-01 against Statistics Estonia (table RV022U, counties for 2018 to 2026, https://andmed.stat.ee/api/v1/en/stat/RV022U) and ISO 3166-2:EE as printed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:EE, with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counties_of_Estonia as the second text. THE COUNTY LINES ARE DATED: Natural Earth draws the counties as they were before the administrative reform of 2017, when some parishes changed county (Lihula, once in Lääne County, is in Lääneranna Parish of Pärnu County today: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lihula_Parish and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lääneranna_Parish, read 2026-10-01; the drawing still has it in Lääne). The outline of the country is today's. The page opens on the plain outline and says so wherever the counties are named. How it works
This blank map of Estonia opens on the plain outline of the country, with Saaremaa, Hiiumaa and Lake Peipus. Switch Borders on for the 15 counties; their lines are those of before the 2017 reform.

A plain outline first
The sheet opens with nothing inside the outline: the mainland, the islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa in the west and Lake Peipus on the border with Russia in the east. Latvia is drawn to the south as plain land. Press Print this map for an outline to draw on.
The counties, with older lines
Borders adds the 15 counties, and Numbered and Named label them. All 15 names are today’s. The lines are those of before 2017, when some parishes changed county: Lihula is drawn in Lääne and is in Pärnu County today.
Typed answers without Estonian letters count: Parnu, Polva and Voru are right in the quiz.
