How this list was compiled: Items made on 2026-10-01; names, ids, points, rings and accepted spellings are Natural Earth's. The page numbers five of the ten shapes. Scandinavia as Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and the wider use of the word for the Nordic countries: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandinavia; the five Nordic sovereign states (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden), with the Faroe Islands and Åland as autonomous parts of Denmark and Finland: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_countries; both read 2026-10-01. All five are member states of the United Nations (https://www.un.org/en/about-us/member-states, read 2026-10-01). Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Åland and the Faroe Islands are shapes that are drawn and not asked. How it works

This blank map of Scandinavia shows Norway, Sweden and Denmark, with Finland to the east and Iceland out in the Atlantic. It prints blank for labeling, numbered, or named as the answer key.

Blank, numbered or named

The sheet opens blank, with the borders drawn. Choose Numbered to put a number on each of the five countries, or Named for their names, then press Print this map; the answer key prints on its own sheet.

Three countries or five

Scandinavia most often means Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In English the word is also used for all the Nordic countries, which adds Finland and Iceland, so the sheet numbers all five. If your class counts three, tell students to skip the other two.

  • Denmark is the smallest of the three, a peninsula and islands at the bottom of the map, south of Norway and Sweden.

Questions and answers

Which countries are in Scandinavia?

Most commonly Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Finland and Iceland are Nordic countries and are often counted too, which is how this map numbers them.

Why do Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have no number?

They are the Baltic states, on the far side of the Baltic Sea. They are drawn so that the sea has its eastern shore, but they are not part of Scandinavia or of the Nordic countries.

Are the Faroe Islands and Åland on the map?

Yes, as small shapes without a number. The Faroe Islands belong to Denmark and Åland to Finland, and both govern themselves. Greenland and the Arctic islands of Svalbard are outside the frame.

Is there a quiz on the same map?

Yes. Press Quiz yourself on this map and the page names one country at a time for you to tap, either the three of Scandinavia or all five Nordic countries.
