How it works

Blank, numbered or named
The sheet opens blank. Choose Numbered to put a number on each of the ten departments, or Named for their names, then press Print this map. Print the answer key gives the names on a sheet of its own. Switch Borders off for the plain outline of Haiti.
Two peninsulas and a gulf
Haiti is the western part of Hispaniola. Its two long peninsulas reach west around the Gulf of Gonâve. Ouest, the department of the capital, Port-au-Prince, lies at the head of the gulf. Navassa Island, which Haiti claims and the United States administers, lies farther west and is not on the map.
- Many department names are French compass words: Nord is north, Sud south, Ouest west. The English words count as right answers too.
