How this list was compiled: Items made on 2026-10-01; ids, points and accepted spellings are Natural Earth's. DISPUTED BORDER: Natural Earth draws Kosovo as separate land, so this file holds the 24 administrative districts and the City of Belgrade that the source files under Serbia, and nothing in Kosovo is an item. Serbia's own list has 29 districts and Belgrade, five of the districts in Kosovo. Every one of the 25 names was matched by its ISO code on 2026-10-01 with the list of ISO 3166-2 codes for Serbia as Wikipedia prints it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:RS: RS-00 Belgrade and RS-01 to RS-24, with RS-01 to RS-07 under Vojvodina) and with Wikipedia's list of the administrative districts (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_districts_of_Serbia). The source's name field is wrong for RS-19, which is Rasina and carries the name of Pomoravlje (RS-13); labels follow the codes. No capital points, no rivers. Read again on 2026-10-03: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_districts_of_Serbia (29 districts, five of them in Kosovo, and the City of Belgrade) and the leads of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbia and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo. The outline was compared on 2026-10-03 with the Natural Earth 1:10m file the drawing names (the cached download of 2026-09-19): the two cover the same area. How it works

This blank map of Serbia shows 24 districts and the City of Belgrade. Kosovo is drawn as the map source draws it, as separate land without numbers. Switch Borders off for a plain outline.

Vojvodina, Belgrade and the south

The seven districts in the north are Vojvodina: North, West and South Bačka, North, Central and South Banat, and Srem. Belgrade is a city of its own, with a status similar to a district’s. The other 17 districts lie south of Vojvodina.

Along the line with Kosovo

Five districts lie along the line the map source draws with Kosovo: Raška, Rasina, Toplica, Jablanica and Pčinja. Pčinja, in the far south, also touches North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

  • The numbers run in alphabetical order, from Belgrade at 1 to Zlatibor at 25.

Questions and answers

How many districts are on the map of Serbia?

The map numbers 24 administrative districts and the City of Belgrade, which has a similar status. Serbia’s own list has 29 districts: the other five are in Kosovo, which the map source draws as separate land.

Why is Kosovo not numbered?

Some borders on this map are disputed. The map follows Natural Earth, a public-domain map source, and does not take a side. Kosovo declared independence in 2008 and Serbia regards it as its province. With Borders off, the outline prints without Kosovo.

What is the largest district of Serbia?

Zlatibor, in the west. Podunavlje, the small district southeast of Belgrade, is the smallest.

Which countries border Serbia?

Hungary (north), Romania (northeast), Bulgaria (southeast), North Macedonia (south), Montenegro to the southwest, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the west and Croatia to the northwest. All are drawn as plain land.
