Blank, numbered or named
The sheet opens blank. Choose Numbered to put a number on each of the 4 countries of the United Kingdom, or Named for their names, then press Print this map; the answer key prints on its own sheet.
A UK outline map, not the British Isles
The United Kingdom is four countries; the British Isles are the islands, which also hold the Republic of Ireland. For a blank map of the British Isles, print Blank: all of it is drawn, and only the four UK countries carry numbers.
For a counties sheet, move on to the blank maps of England, Scotland or Ireland, each with every county or council area drawn.
Questions and answers
What are the four countries of the UK?
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England is the largest and has most of the people; Northern Ireland is the smallest, across the Irish Sea.
Is the Isle of Man part of the UK?
No. The Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are Crown Dependencies, governed by the Crown but not part of the United Kingdom, so the map leaves them without numbers.
Is Ireland part of the UK?
Only Northern Ireland is. The rest of the island is the Republic of Ireland, an independent country, drawn beside the UK without a number.
