How it works
This blank map of the United States and Mexico draws both countries at one scale with their state lines: the 48 contiguous states, Mexico's 31 states and Mexico City. Numbered marks the border, ten states and the Rio Grande.

Blank first
The sheet opens blank, with the state lines of both countries and the Rio Grande drawn as a line. Press Print this map. Choose Numbered or Named to label the border, and Print the answer key for the names on a sheet of its own.
What is numbered
Eleven things: California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas; Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas; and the Rio Grande, which the border follows from the Gulf of Mexico to El Paso and Ciudad Juárez. West of there it runs below New Mexico, Arizona and California to the Pacific Ocean, almost all of it overland.
- Río Bravo, the river's name in Mexico, counts as a right answer for the Rio Grande.
Questions and answers
Which states are on the US and Mexico border?
Four US states: California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Six Mexican states: Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. All ten are numbered on this map.
Is this a blank map of USA and Mexico with every state?
Every state line is drawn for the 48 contiguous states, the District of Columbia, Mexico's 31 states and Mexico City. Alaska and Hawaii are not on the sheet. Only the ten border states and the river carry numbers.
Where does the Rio Grande form the border?
From the Gulf of Mexico upstream to El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. That stretch is the whole border between Texas and Mexico, and it is the part of the river drawn on this map.
Are the Great Lakes on the map?
Yes, as open water at the top of the sheet, with Canada as plain land beyond them. Canada, Cuba and Central America are drawn without names or numbers.
