Country Map Quizzes: States, Provinces and Regions to Find and Name

One country per page, its states or provinces as shapes you tap, and a blank copy of the same map to print.

Each page here is one country, drawn as a blank map with its states, provinces or regions as separate shapes. Find it gives a name and you tap the shape.

More about these tools

In Name it one shape lights up and you choose or type its name, and on the Australia, Canada and South Africa pages its capital too. Study turns the names on, with a checked fact for each part. After a round, one press brings back only the parts you got wrong, and every map prints blank or labeled.

Larger countries are split into groups, so the 47 prefectures of Japan or the 31 states of Mexico can be learned one corner at a time. The maps were drawn for this site from Natural Earth, a public domain map dataset, with coastlines simplified and small islands left out. Names were checked against official lists on the date each page shows.
