How this list was compiled: Every label and every other Spanish word named here was read on 2026-10-08 in two dictionaries: the Spanish-English dictionary of WordReference (https://www.wordreference.com/es/en/translation.asp?spen= followed by the word, and https://www.wordreference.com/es/translation.asp?tranword= followed by the English word) and SpanishDict (https://www.spanishdict.com/translate/ followed by the word). Both give the gender and the clothing meaning of camiseta, camisa, suéter, chaqueta, pantalón and pantalones, falda, vestido, calcetín, zapato, gorra, pijama, ropa (clothes) and prenda (a piece of clothing). Regional words, with the region each dictionary marks. T-shirt: playera (WordReference Guatemala and Mexico; SpanishDict Central America and Mexico), remera (WordReference Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay; SpanishDict River Plate), polera (WordReference Chile; SpanishDict Bolivia and Chile). Sweater: jersey (Spain in both) and pulóver (no region in either). Jacket: chamarra (WordReference Latin America; SpanishDict Andes, Mexico and Spain) and campera (WordReference Latin America, Argentina; SpanishDict South America). Skirt: pollera (WordReference Latin America; SpanishDict Southern Cone). Sock: media (Latin America in both). Shorts: WordReference gives pantalones cortos for short pants and short, an English word also used in the plural, for shorts; SpanishDict gives short, shorts and pantalones cortos. Sneakers: tenis, a masculine plural, and zapatilla in both. Pajamas: WordReference has pijama as masculine and notes that some Latin American countries make it feminine, and piyama as a Latin American noun of either gender; SpanishDict heads its entries el pijama, la pijama and el piyama, la piyama. Gorra: WordReference defines it as a hat with a visor. The wording of every line is our own. Licence: own work

The drawing: The site's own drawing of 2026-10-02, first made for the English clothes page and used here unchanged. Own work: plain geometry, no mark, logo or lettering on any garment, nothing traced. Licence: own work
