Six continents, not seven

Schools in Spain and Latin America teach six continents: América, Europa, Asia, África, Oceanía and la Antártida. North and South America are one continent there, so this map lights them as one shape.

Five oceans

The oceans are el océano Pacífico, el océano Atlántico, el océano Índico, el océano Ártico and el océano Antártico. After a miss the right name is shown.

Type the Spanish name

Open More options and choose Type it. Accents are forgiven and the article can be left out, so antartida counts for la Antártida. The same menu switches every name to English.

  • Among the continents only la Antártida is normally said with an article. Every ocean takes el.
  • The word océano starts with a small o. Only the name after it has a capital: el océano Pacífico.
  • Capital letters keep their accent marks in Spanish: África, Índico, Ártico.
